Ayana Cadres began her career as a teacher at KIPP Academy of Opportunity after earning her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Providence College in Rhode Island. Go Friars! After teaching for four years she moved onto a career in School Psychology after receiving her Master’s and PPS Credential in School Psychology. She has provided support to schools in the South Bay all the way to South Pasadena before making it here to Wiseburn. During her career at Wiseburn she has earned her License as an Educational Psychologist.
Ms. Cadres has two children- both Anza Eagles and two big bull dogs! She loves spending time with her family near any body of water, playing volleyball and going to the Hollywood Bowl in her free time. She has been an Anza Eagle for 6 years now and wouldn’t change it for the world!
Mr. Jorge Paz began his career in the private sector after earning his Bachelor’s in Sociology/ Communication Studies with a concentration in Interaction and Group Relations. He earned his Master’s degree in School Counseling along with his PPS School Counseling Credential, both from CSULB.
He has worked in the private sector as: a drug/ alcohol counselor, foster care counselor, and gang intervention counselor. He then made the switch to the public sector working both at the high school and middle school level before transitioning to the elementary level.
He has served his schools in various capacities such as: Safe and Civil lead, School Advisory Council Chair, and school Dean.
Currently, Mr. Paz is part of the Positive Behavior Strategies (PBS) committee, Student Success Team chair, 504 lead and working on implementation of the Olweous Bully Prevention Program at Juan de Anza Elementary School.
He is looking forward to learning from each one of his colleagues and values the continued support from the Anza community.
