School Psychologist

I am excited and honored to be a part of the Anza community for another exciting year as a School Psychologist. I received my Master’s degree in School Counseling with an emphasis in School Psychology from Cal State Northridge. Since then, I have served at various schools in and out of state serving children from preschool to age 21. My goal is to build on a child’s strengths and provide the support needed for their educational success. When I am not at Anza, you will find me and my family exploring nature, being crafty, exercising/gym, or curled up completing a puzzle or enjoying a good movie.
School Psychologist

Ayana Cadres began her career as a teacher at KIPP Academy of Opportunity after earning her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Providence College in Rhode Island. Go Friars! After teaching for four years she moved onto a career in School Psychology after receiving her Master’s and PPS Credential in School Psychology. She has provided support to schools in the South Bay all the way to South Pasadena before making it here to Wiseburn. During her career at Wiseburn she has earned her License as an Educational Psychologist.

Ms. Cadres has two children- both Anza Eagles and two big bull dogs! She loves spending time with her family near any body of water, playing volleyball and going to the Hollywood Bowl in her free time. She has been an Anza Eagle for 6 years now and wouldn’t change it for the world!

I am honored and privileged to have been a part of the Anza community for the past several years. I started my position as a Speech Pathologist here in 2003 and have watched our Anza community grow in so many amazing ways. I am a native New Yorker (Go Mets!) and earned my Bachelor’s degree back east at Iona College and earned my Master’s degree at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Az. I have worked in several districts in the South Bay as a Los Angeles County Office of Education Speech Pathologist for many years, but no district compares with Wiseburn and the sense of community that it fosters. I am passionate about improving children’s communication skills and giving every child a voice. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, surfing, hiking, global travel, literature, music, learning a different language, and catching a great film.
